One Club, Our Season
As we gear up for one of the most transformational seasons in Sunnybank Rugby Union’s history, it’s the perfect time to look ahead and share the exciting plans, goals, and aspirations shaping the future of our club. Leading the charge are key members of the Sunnybank management team—Stephanie Karvelis, Brando Va’aulu, and former Junior Ruby Committee member Karen Ramsay—who have stepped in front of the camera to provide a glimpse into their club vision for 2025.
A Unified Club Vision
At the heart of Sunnybank Rugby Union’s management goals for 2025 is a commitment to strengthening the connection between our junior and senior programs. Creating a seamless pathway from grassroots rugby to Premier teams remains a top priority, ensuring players feel supported at every stage of their development.
“Sunnybank Rugby has always had a strong focus on nurturing talent within the club and building a community where everyone—players, families, and supporters—feels valued and included. This year is all about growth in both the seniors and juniors, whilst still preserving the family-friendly spirit that makes our club unique.”
Karen Ramsay, Former Junior Committee and Board Director.
Enhancing Performance
Sunnybank Rugby is committed to delivering the resources and opportunities players need to develop, play and perform across our entire pathway. Upgraded facilities, revitalised club spaces, and enhanced coaching support are just the start. In 2025, we aim to foster an environment where members are empowered to grow on and off the field, are connected to our community and continue to build on our strong foundations for future success.
“This year, we are focused on building upon the progress made in recent years, with a continued emphasis on elevating performance in the seniors' space and strengthening alignment across our members. Our goal is to reinforce our values and Dragon DNA across all grades, shaping a culture we can be proud of, where everyone brings their best selves to the club, both on and off the field, and feels connected to something greater than themselves.”
Brando Va’aulu, Senior Rugby Manager
Members First Approach
Sunnybank’s management is committed to ensuring the club is a place for everyone. The club’s success extends beyond game day and is a testament to everyone involved, on and off the field.
“We’re not just developing rugby players; we’re holistically developing confident individuals and lifelong connections to the club and the sport. 2025 is about resetting our standards and elevating the club for the benefit of our current, past, and future members.”
Stephanie Karvelis, General Manager - Rugby Operations
With clear goals and a passionate management team at the helm, as the club grows, so too does the commitment to honouring its legacy while paving the way for a bright and sustainable future.
